American Railway Journal - Cromford and Peak Forest Railway 1832

Published 4th August 1832

This short article describes a snippet from another publication of an overview of the Cromford and High Peak Railway. The CHPR at that time had only just opened the first sections. It was a goods only line, with transport provided by private carriers using their own horse drawn wagons. The article is mostly facts but does include the occasional less than complimentary comment including a comparison with an equivalent railway in America.
