    No.2 The Euston Grove of the 1840s very much reflected modern property developers; when you have a focus for people, co-locating associated services such as hotels makes money. The Victoria Hotel to the west was a basic bed and breakfast service, but the Euston Hotel to the east was a larger affair including Doric columns in the dining room. The area between the Victoria and Euston hotels became a holding area for Hansom Cabs to be called off at busy times, a lot more of these are to be built for the model to make if feel busy. A cab rank and pickup / drop off system was introduced in the 1880s as the station expanded and the two hotels were joined together with the access road of Euston Grove passing underneath. The visual impact of the station arch from Euston Grove was therefore lost at this point.
